As President of World Bicycle Relief (WBR), Dave Neiswander oversees fundraising, philanthropic programs and social enterprise operations for the rapidly growing global organization. He brings nearly a decade of experience to the job having built WBR's field operations as Head of Africa Operations. He deeply understands the challenge and impact that distance presents to individuals and communities for everything from access to school and healthcare to the ability to attend to daily needs and make a living.
Founded in 2005, World Bicycle Relief mobilizes people through The Power of Bicycles®, distributing specially designed, high quality bicycles through philanthropic and social enterprise programs.
Entrepreneurs use the bike to increase productivity and profits. Students attend class more regularly and their academic performances improve. Health care workers visit more patients in less time, providing better, more consistent care.
World Bicycle Relief also promotes local economies and long-term sustainability by assembling bicycles near the point of delivery and training field mechanics.
To date, World Bicycle Relief has distributed more than 340,000 bicycles and trained over 1,600 field mechanics in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America.
Before joining World Bicycle Relief, Neiswander was an investment banker at FBR & Co.
He has BS in Finance from Miami University.
