David Chen is Chairman of Equilibrium, which builds and operates portfolios of sustainably driven real assets for institutional investors. For Equilibrium, he oversees new product development and guides the firm's growth.

Previously, he was a general partner at OVP Venture Partners, Founder/CEO GeoTrust, Corporate Vice President Marketing Mentor Graphics, associate at McKinsey & Company and early team member
at Solectron.

At Kellogg, Chen teaches the impact & sustainable finance class, exposing students to investment strategies that deliver both market returns and intentional impact on environment and community.

Seven years ago, he co-founded the Sustainable
Investment Challenge (SIC), a global business school competition that challenges finance students to create scalable investment strategies and funds that deliver both market returns and intentional impact. The Kellogg-Morgan Stanley SIC has grown to more than 70 top international business schools worldwide.

Chen served as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Portland Branch, is a current board member of The Freshwater Trust, board member of B Corp/B LAB and advisory board member of Volans. He was appointed by the governor or Oregon to chair the Oregon Innovation Council (2005-2011) and was a founding Chairman of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI).

Chen has a BA. from UC-Berkeley and an MM from Kellogg School of Management.
