Chris Bonanti is a Senior Managing Consultant for Engineering Systems Inc. (ESI). His primary expertise involves his more than twenty years of experience leading and managing regulatory, legislative and infrastructure projects for all modes of transportation including rail, motor vehicle and aviation.
Prior to joining ESI, Bonanti was a member of the US Senior Executive Service and was the Associate Administrator for Rulemaking at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). During this time, he also served as head of the US Delegation to the United Nations World Forum for the Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations. Bonanti has also worked as the Director for the Office of Hazardous Materials at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), as staff members of both the US Senate and US House of Representatives, as Special Assistant to the Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and as an investigator-in-charge (IIC) at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). He is also a former Marine and served during Desert Shield. Bonanti has a BS in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in Environmental Pollution Control from Pennsylvania State University and will graduate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with an MBA in 2017. |
